MARGAO: It was an embarrassment for the political leaders like Manohar alias Babu Ajgaonkar, Chandrakant alias Babu Kavelekar, Churchill Alemao, besides Valanka Alemao, Clafacio Dias, Savitri Kavlekar, Mickky Pacheco, and few others on the day of counting at Margao.
On hearing the news that battle will be lost to Congress candidate Eltone D’Costa, the former Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant alias Babu Kavlekar left the counting centre in haste.
More interesting to note was that TMC leader Churchill Alemao, along with his daughter Valanka left the counting centre in a police vehicle, after waiting for a few hours inside the building.
Even Savitri Kavelekar, wife of Babu Kavlekar spoke no word when more than dozen of media persons rushed towards her for the reaction.
Manohar alias Babu Ajgaonkar and Damu Naik of BJP was not even seen at the counting centre.
