PERNEM: Newly appointed Information Technology Minister Rohan Khaunte along with Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar inspected the site of Electronic Manufacturing Cluster, at Tuem, to take review of the work, on Monday.

During the inspection it was learnt that the road network is completed, however, the road connectivity to the main highway is pending.

“The biggest challenge is to attract the right investors at Tuem Electronic Manufacturing Cluster. We will have to bring in the things needed for the industries in this highly competitive market. Every State is competing today, and we have to be far and one step ahead,” the Minister said.

There are already many industrial estates in Goa. Verna was initially an electronic City which later turned out to be different. Policy wise we need to be strong. We need to have right investors and make it investor-friendly. This was a review visit where the local MLA was also called. We need to sit back, make few corrections and get back aggressively on this project,” Minister Khaunte added.

The minister further said that he will be meeting the Union minister to discuss what “we require in Goa and how we are looking at Goa and how his support will be required.
