Panjim: The Panjim police have arrested two Bihar natives for duping people of exchanging their gold ornaments with fake jewellery on the pretext of polishing it. Ajaykumar Sah (36) and Muhammad Babu Mangan (46) were arrested from Mala where they were caught in the act.
They have been accused of duped people of Rs 1.5 lakh. “We will investigate their involvement in similar crimes,” said an officer.
A couple of cases have been reported in Goa wherein accused persons have lured women of polishing their gold ornaments and bring it in shape, but instead return fake ornaments.
