PANJIM: A 22-year-old youth from Bihar tragically ended his life in a rented room in Madhla Bhat, Siolim, on Sunday. The news of this heart-wrenching event has sent shockwaves throughout the community. Sheikh Jaanu was employed as a decoration assistant for various events.
Upon learning of Sheikh Jaanu’s death, locals promptly alerted the police. The Anjuna Police received a distress call from the Siolim outpost, reporting that a young man had taken his own life by hanging in his rented room at Madhla Bhat, Siolim.
According to his brother, Sheikh Sonu, the youth was residing alone, and around 7 pm, when he went to check on him, he discovered the room locked. With the help of others, they broke open the door to find Sheikh Jaanu hanging inside.
Sheikh Sonu shared that his brother had been under considerable stress due to marital discord with his wife. Anjuna police have ruled out foul play.
