PANJIM: The Panjim police arrested a 32-year-old bike thief from Kolhapur on the charge of stealing five two-wheelers, all taken on rent from the capital city.
The police gave the name of the accused as Saddam Jamadar. So far four stolen bikes have been recovered from him. Police said that that the accused was out on bail in a similar case involving six rent-a-bikes from Calangute.
As per information provided by police, Saddam used forged documents such as driving licence, Aadhar Card etc to procure two-wheelers on rent in Goa. Instead of returning these vehicles within stipulated time, he took them to Kolhapur after changing registration number plates and sold them through buying-selling platform.
