PANJIM: Agassaim police have arrested a bike thief, who has two cases registered against him at Panjim and Mapusa police stations. The 25-year-old identified as Omkar Patil was intercepted at Agassaim with a Honda Activa without a number plate raising suspicion.
“Our patrolling team questioned him as to why he had no number plate to which he did not give satisfactory reply. He was brought to the police station where he disclosed that he had stolen the bike from Taleigao,” PI Jivba Dalvi said.
The chassis and engine number matched with the crime registered at Panjim police station. The accused was thereafter handed over to the Panjim police station for further investigation, Dalvi said.
Patil, a resident of Calapur-Taleigao, was earlier arrested by Panjim and Mapusa police stations in a similar offence.
