PONDA: A gold chain was stolen from the neck of an elderly woman at Rumane-Paniwada, Borim on Wednesday around 3:30 pm.
The incident took place when this old woman was returning home through a lonely road when suddenly two people appeared on a bike and snatched her gold chain and fled after knocking her down. Ponda police are investigating.
Meanwhile, the citizens of Priol came to Ponda police station and expressed their grievances to the police officers complaining that instances of chain and mangalsutra being stolen from women had increased over the past month and asked for strict police patrolling.
