On the second day of the Winter Session of the Goa Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant assured the House that motorcycles will be provided to police constables at all police stations to strengthen patrolling and improve law enforcement.
The assurance comes in response to concerns raised earlier by Calangute MLA Michael Lobo, who had pointed out that police personnel were previously equipped with motorcycles and regularly used them for patrol duties. Lobo had urged the government to revive the practice and ensure that newly recruited constables are deployed for patrolling using two-wheelers.
Chief Minister Sawant’s assurance is expected to enhance police visibility, response time and overall public safety, particularly in densely populated and tourist-heavy areas across the state.
