Bill to regularise structures in govt, comunidade land in assembly: Dy CM

PANJIM: Dy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza said
the Bill to regularise unauthorised structures will come up in the forthcoming
Assembly session.

“The Revenue Department is
drafting the Bill to regularise unauthorised structures on government and
comunidade land and is in the final stage,” he said.

Asked whether it would be
possible to introduce the Bill as the Assembly session is just a week away, he
said, “It is being drafted and thereafter it will have to be vetted by the
Cabinet before presenting in Assembly.”

He added, “Since the monsoon
session is a long one, it should be ready. It was a pre-poll promise which will
be fulfilled.”

On activists approaching the
court on the ordinance to regularise structures on private land, he said, “I
think there will be no bearing on the ordinance as it will be tabled in the
Assembly for debate and discussion and once the Assembly passes it there cannot
be any issue.”
