ARAMBOL: Arambol Village Panchayat Sarpanch Bhikaji Naik on Tuesday informed that the local body as per the High Court of Bombay at Goa orders has removed the billboard advertisements, which were installed along the MDR and main road at Arambol.
“Total 26 billboards were removed after the respective High Court’s judgement on a writ petition. The ones who had put up the advertisements did not know in detail about the required permits,” said Naik.
The attractive advertisement billboards were proving to be a distraction for the motorists which had led to a rise in the road accidents. Officials had surveyed the area about a month back and locals have welcomed the move.
