CANACONA: With the installation of bio-metric scanner at Canacona Municipal Council (CMC) office, citizens expect better service while the staff has welcomed the move as “people friendly” towards providing better civic administration for the people of Canacona.
The technicians on Tuesday installed the bio-metric scanner at the CMC entrance paving way for the long-awaited move to bring coordination in staff punctuality and attendance.
Hailing the move and congratulating the administrative skills of CMC Chairperson Ajay Bhagat and Chief Officer Pradeep Naik, All Goa Municipality Workers Union, Canacona Branch President Kanhanya alias Krishna M Dessai termed it as a move in the right direction.
“We congratulate Bhagat and Naik for bringing the change which will go a long way to serve the public in a better and much efficient manner. It will undoubtedly help in staff punctuality and attendance,” Kanhanya told Herald when contacted.
Incidentally, Kanhanya informed that it may not be before February 15 or March 1 that the newly installed biometric scanner will be operational as there is still no official order issued for its implementation.
“Scanner is just installed on Tuesday, but its actual implementation is only after an official order is issued by the chief officer,” informed Kanhanya.
