In a heartwarming ceremony, Bishop Theodore Mascarenhas from the Dalton Ganj diocese in Jharkhand officiated the blessing of two newly donated vehicles. The Goan Welfare Society in Kuwait, these vehicles as gifts to the Street Providence Trust, to support their relentless mission to combat “Hunger & Homelessness” in Goa.
Located at His Grace’s residence in Camurlim, marked Bishop Mascarenhas’s inaugural visit to Goa since assuming his role as the Bishop of Dalton Ganj, Jharkhand. The vehicles, crucial to the outreach initiatives of the Street Providence Trust, were symbolically blessed, signifying their role in rescuing and rehabilitating homeless individuals across Goa through the operation of their 10 Free Shelter Homes.
The official handover of the vehicles was conducted in the presence of Street Providence Trust volunteers/advisors, Bosco George and John Shilshi, both retired IPS officers. The executive committee of the Goan Welfare Society, Kuwait, including notable individuals such as Julio Cardozo, Alex Wilson Coelho, Rabindra Pimenta, Joe F X D’Souza, Mario Rebello, Menino Duarte, and Jose Cajetan Afonso, graced the occasion with their presence.
Highlighting the broader scope of their efforts, Street Providence Trust not only manages Free Shelter Homes in Goa but also oversees a similar initiative in Jharkhand. The Diocese of Dalton Ganj, Jharkhand, supports this initiative under the guidance of Bishop Theodore Mascarenhas.
The ceremony resonated with the spirit of philanthropy and compassion, underscoring the collaborative efforts between the Goan Welfare Society, Kuwait, and Street Providence Trust in their commitment to alleviate homelessness in Goa and beyond.
Street Providence Trust currently manages a free Shelter Home in Jharkhand, supported by the Diocese of Dalton Ganj, Jharkhand, under the guidance of His Grace.
