BITS Goa Director lauds student’s Apple recognition

MARGAO: Dr Suman Kundu, Professor and Director of BITS Pilani,K K Birla Goa Campus, has showered praises on 22-year-old student Akshat Srivastava, whose innovative app ‘MindBud’ caught the eye of Apple CEO Tim Cook at the company’s ongoing Worldwide Developers Conference in California.

“Akshat is an inspiration for ambitious young talents at BITS Pilani who are abuzz with innovative solutions across all domains. He represents a breed of innovators who will make the Institute and the country proud over and over again with their creations. We are proud of him and you will hear other such success stories in the near future. Our students are brilliant!” said Dr Kundu.

Highlighting the institute’s focus on innovation, Dr Kundu said, “t K K Birla Goa Campus and all BITS Pilani campuses, we have created a rich ecosystem for research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. We have given India 15 unicorns, and many more will emerge from this legacy institute.”

Srivastava was one of 50 Distinguished Winners of Apple’s Swift Student Challenge and had the remarkable opportunity to present his app to Cook and receive feedback. MindBud introduces children to classic games designed to promote analytical and creative thinking through a blend of nostalgia and modern technology.
