BJP-backed Margao Municipal councillors moved a No Confidence
Motion against newly elected Chairperson Ghanshyam Shirodkar. The application was
submitted to the Directorate of Municipal Administration on Monday by 15
councillors. Although BJP councillors aligned to Digambar Kamat had a majority
of 16, the BJP-backed Damodar Shirodkar lost the election on Friday.
BJP-backed MMC councillors move No Confidence Motion against
Chairperson Ghanshyam Shirodkar. 15 Margao Municipality councillors have signed the application
to move the No Confidence Motion. “We have submitted a letter to DMA for necessary directions,” BJP
councillor Mahesh Amonkar said.
BJP councillors and those aligned to Digambar Kamat had a
majority of 16. However, the BJP-backed candidate Damodar Shirodkar lost the MMC
Chairperson’s election on Friday.
