BJP-backed panel for Ponda civic polls

PONDA: BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade on Saturday declared party-backed panel for Ponda municipal council elections scheduled on May 5.

Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik, Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar were also present when the names of party backed candidates were announced. Tanavade thanked the Ponda voters for electing two of party supported candidate Vishwanath Dalvi and Vidya Punalekar unopposed. He said BJP would win remaining 13 wards of Ponda municipality.

All the candidates including the chairperson Ritesh Naik and Roy Naik, both sons of Ravi Naik were also present. Meanwhile, the BJP that they would not join hands in the civic polls battle with the MGP.
