CURCHOREM: Zilla Parishad elections to Xeldem seat in Curchorem Constituency and Sanvordem seat in Sanvordem Constituency were held peacefully amidst security arrangements, on Saturday.
According to Quepem Mamlatdar/ARO Laxmikant Dessai, 4,386 female and 4,093 male voted from 6,776 female and 6,329 male eligible voters registered on the voters roll from Avedem, Assolda and Xeldem panchayats in 3,5 and 12 polling booths respectively. The final voters’ turnout percentage was 64.70. Meanwhile, Curchorem MLA and Power Minister Nilesh Cabral said that his party candidate will win with more than 2,000 votes.
