Addressing media persons in the presence of both Canacona ZP BJP candidates, party president Vinay Tendulkar said the huge development and untarnished governance of the BJP since the last three-and-half years would lead people to elect both BJP candidates with huge margins.
Canacona MLA and Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar said Canacona had witnessed development on all fronts ever since BJP had formed the government.
“During the Lok Sabha polls, the opposition made various efforts to defame our party, including myself, on issues like the Ruby Residency building collapse, Vijaya Pagui murder incident and the municipal market fire incident. Despite their vicious campaign, the electorate showed them their place by giving us a thumping lead of 5,906 votes in Canacona assembly segment for Lok Sabha polls,” said Tawadkar.
“We are all upbeat once again to hand over yet another defeat to the opposition-supported independent candidates for the Khola and Poinguinim ZP seats.” South Goa MP Narendra Savoikar said it was due to his proposal that the Centre had increased 42% tax paid by the State back into the State’s coffers to assist in developmental works.
