BJP congratulates Gadkari for sanctioning highway works funds

PANJIM: The State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has congratulated Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari for sanctioning Rs 2000 crore for the national highway from Old Goa to Mollem and other works.

PANJIM: The State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has congratulated Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari for sanctioning Rs 2000 crore for the national highway from Old Goa to Mollem and other works. 
A statement issued by spokesperson Premanand Mahambarey and North District secretary Hemant Golatkar, said, “With this present sanction and the previous allotment of about Rs 10000 crore for the National Highway from Patradevi to Pollem including the Zuari Bridge, the dream of having 4-lane / 6-lane highways will be a reality in the next 2 years.”
The party also congratulated Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and PWD Minister Ramkrishna (Sudin) Dhavalikar for speedily submitting and pursuing the proposal with the Surface Transport Minister for sanctioning of funds.
“We also congratulate Parrikar for boosting the development in Goa by spending a record amount of funds on infrastructure development in the first six months of the year 2017-18. By prudent management of finances of the State the CM has skillfully managed the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission, repayment of old loans, social security disbursements, clearing the backlog of dues while substantially increasing revenue mobilisation thus maintaining a speedy progress of the infrastructure development works,” the release states.  
The party is also content that the CM extended the KTC bus concessional pass facility to senior citizens, students and regular passengers by one year and urged him to extend it to another five years.
