MARGAO: Top BJP leaders descended on Salcete on Saturday in a bid to reach out to voters ahead of the ensuing Lok Sabha polls with the Ek Note, Kamal Pe Vote campaign, as party leaders hopped from Margao to Fatorda and Curtorim to woo the electorate.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar with party probable candidate for South Goa Narendra Sawaikar and party chief Vinay Tendulkar and other leaders in tow made their presence felt at Sirvodem locality of Margao in a big way this evening. This is the first time that the top BJP brass has come down to the commercial capital to drum up support for the party in the forthcoming poll.
Taking time off from the ongoing campaign, Parrikar said he sees no wrong with the Ek Note, Kamal Pe Vote campaign and reminded the media that the BJP favours participatory democracy. “If people want a good government, there’s no problem if they shell out a note”, he said.
The party leaders then hopped into Fatorda and were later scheduled to descend on neighbouring Curtorim constituency as part of the ongoing campaign.
