PANJIM: BJP’s former leader and karyakarta Deepak Kalangutkar on Sunday formally joined the Goa Forward Party (GFP).
He was inducted into the party by GFP president and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai. Deepak had quit the BJP on October 21.
Kalangutkar said the BJP has become another Congress; today the old, dedicated, principled and loyal BJP workers are not wanted by the State BJP leaders.
He said in Pernem and Mandrem constituencies, both the MLAs have been imported from Congress along with their workers, who have a totally different ideology and a different culture.
“They have already started clashing with the original and true BJP workers,” he claimed, adding that this is the reason why he and many BJP workers are leaving the party, even though it is presently in power, both in the State and at the Centre, and joining an opposition party.
