PANJIM: Amid protest over agriculture-related farm bills, Bharatiya Janata Party Goa unit has hailed the legislation.
Agriculture Minister Chandrakant Kavlekar said the bills are in the interest of farmers.
“We congratulate the Prime Minister for the farm bills. It will help the farmers in a big way,” he said ruling out allegations that the legislations are introduced to help the corporates at the cost of farmers.
Asked on sustained opposition to the bills, the minister dismissed it saying the protests are staged by those who have been minting money from the farmers.
