BJP has destroyed democratic principles of nation, says Rao

QUEPEM: All India Congress Committee (AICC) in-charge for Goa, Dinesh Gundu Rao, on Monday said that the BJP has made democracy a business and has committed the sin of forming a government through the back door after losing the elections.
He accused the government of being illegitimate. “This government is formed on the basis of corruption and not in the public interest”, he claimed.
“Doors of Congress are permanently closed for Deputy Chief Minister Babu Kavlekar and MLAs who had defected to BJP in 2019”, Rao said.
Opposition leader Digambar Kamat, State President Girish Chodankar, Prakash Rathore, Elton Da Costa, Joe Dias, MK Sheikh and other Congress leaders were present at the meeting with Rao.
Rao claimed that many have lost their lives due to the inaction of the government during the pandemic.

Digambar expressed his confidence over forming the government after the 2022 Assembly elections. “The BJP government has failed in all areas of law and order, COVID, inflation. The government has sacked workers.  We will never forgive a traitor like Babu Kavlekar who is threatening the voters and the party”, Digambar said.
“Kavlekar has become a super power in Goa and has left Amit Shah behind in buying corporators. Kavlekar is the most ‘corrupt’ minister and the voters will decide his future in coming Assembly elections”, claimed Chodankar.
Chodankar said that his party had prepared Rs 100 crore special package, for common man during the COVID crisis, which was handed over to the government, but they failed to seek help to the common man during the pandemic.
“The BJP government has conspired to close the mines and committed the sin of starving the masses. It is time to send this government home,” Chodankar said.
Panch members from Quepem constituency Prabhakar Vaj, Danfi Barbozo and Sanjeel D’Costa joined the Congress from the BJP.
