Questions silence of BJP minority MLAs in Goa, who claim that the party believes in secularism

PANJIM: Condemning the right-wing Hindu organisation’s attempts to disrupt Christmas celebration in several Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ruled States, Congress party in Goa on Tuesday alleged that the attack is an “organized crime” patronized by saffron party.

Addressing media persons, Congress spokesperson Sunil Khawtankar said that BJP, through some right wing Hindu outfit made systematic attempts to disrupt Christmas celebration in States like Karnataka, Haryana and Assam, all ruled by them.

“This is a organized crime patronised by BJP and we will soon see it spreading across India,” said Khawtankar.

Khawtankar questioned silence of BJP minority MLAs in Goa, who otherwise claim that their party believes in secularism.

Meanwhile, Congress also condemned police lathicharge on protesting resident doctors in Delhi. The doctors are protesting against delay in NEET-PG counseling process.

FIR has been registered against protesting doctors under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code for Covid violations and damage to public property among others.

“We demand that government take necessary steps to give justice and protect interest of medical fraternity,” said party vice-president Pramod Salgaonkar.
