VASCO: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Vice President Sankalp Amonkar on Tuesday claimed that the Blue Flag Certification of Baina beach, will restrict locals from accessing the beach.
Amonkar said, “The Blue Flag Certification for Baina beach is just another attempt by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government to privatise the beach and demolish fishermen houses.”
“The certification will stop locals from accessing and using the beach as the entire beach will be fenced,” he added.
He further said, “The Congress along with fishermen and local residents will not only oppose the Blue Flag Certification but also not allow any contractor to put markings on the beach.”
