PORVORIM: The BJP Mahila Morcha has demanded immediate arrest of Serula Communidade attorney Agnelo Lobo in connection with the plot scam of the Serula Comundidade.
Addressing media persons at Porvorim, BJP Mahila Morcha President Kunda Chodankar stated that Lobo has been associated with the Serula Comunidade for over 15 years and hence his custodial investigation by the Crime Branch would throw more light on the land scam.
Chodankar complimented the Crime Branch for arresting the plot owners of Serula Comunidade. “The people who have been arrested are small fish in the ocean. When the Crime Branch succeeds in arresting bigger sharks, the picture will be clear,” she stated. “As per law, open spaces cannot be converted into plots, but Serula Comunidade converted many open spaces into plots illegally with the blessing of some government officials, and also politicians,” said Chodankar.
“The Crime Branch should conduct the enquiry impartially and take action against government officials who are involved in the scam,” demanded Chodankar. She further claimed that the files pertaining to Serula Comunidade are included in ‘any other subjects’ during meetings and have been passed without any discussions.
“The plots of the Serula Comunidade are for residential purpose, but commercial activities are being conducted on these plots,” she added.
“The Crime Branch should also conduct detailed enquiry into the community project of Serula Communidade which has come up opposite Gauri car petrol pump in Porvorim. This project is also a scam and the shops in this complex have been sold at market rates. These shops should be given to unemployed youth at concessional rates,” said Chodankar.
