PORVORIM: Several BJP MLAs praised Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and the budget on Thursday.
Shiroda MLA Subhash Shirodkar, Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte, Tivim MLA Nilkanth Halankar listed out various aspects of the budget that can help the common man and address issues such as unemployment, education and infrastructure. The MLAs also thanked the Chief Minister for development works that have been proposed in their respective constituencies. They also felt that projects like Mopa airport, AYUSH hospitals would benefit locals and that there is a lot in the budget to support people who have traditional occupations.
While BJP MLAs Atanasio Monserrate and Chandrakant Kavelkar also commended the CM for the ‘great’ budget, NCP MLA Churchill Alemao said it’s the best budget, which had things that even Sawant’s predecessor, former CM (late) Manohar Parrikar couldn’t do.
