PANJIM: In what could trigger resentment in the BJP camp ahead of the by-polls in two constituencies, MLAs are expressing their unhappiness at being given just one Corporation each, while ministers are getting two and even three portfolios. MLAs Nilesh Cabral and Glen Ticlo were among those to express their unhappiness.
“As second time MLA, there are a lot of responsibilities. By now we are aware of our responsibilities and our MLAs have got the experience. Some feel they can get two Corporations so that they can show their productivity. As a minister you can get 2 to 3 portfolios, similarly MLAs also desire to get more than one Corporation,” Cabral told Herald.
He was backed by Ticlo who argued that he doesn’t see why MLAs are not given more than one corporation.
