PANJIM: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Goa has equated the ongoing ‘agro challenge’ in the State to a ‘healthy life’ as MLAs try their hand at farming.
BJP’s three Goa MPs Shripad Naik (AYUSH Minister), Narendra Sawaikar and Vinay Tendulkar have applauded the challenge, saying it will create awareness among Goans to take up agriculture and boost people’s health.
“It is a good thing that our legislators have taken to farming. It will encourage people to go back to agriculture. All should go for farming as it will also improve their health,” Naik said.
The Union minister also compared the health scenario of the people 25 years back and now stating, “Lack of exercise has resulted in increase of body toxins. We are sitting on chairs and increasing toxins, eating after midnight (referring to irregular daily schedules). This was not the case 25 years ago,” Naik added.
The AYUSH Minister conceded there is a delay in the proposed AYUSH hospitals in Goa, but claimed that the cabinet is likely to approve the land in its next meeting.
