PANJIM: Ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Amit Shah held a meeting of core group of Goa unit in Mumbai, wherein cadres are asked not to stress Manohar Parrikar with the party’s organisational issues and ensure his work load is minimum during the general elections.
Shah had meeting with the core team, headed by Parrikar at party office at Dadar in Mumbai. Party is asked to ensure its victory in both the constituencies in North and South.
When contacted, core committee member MP Narendra Sawaikar said that the meeting was held in connection with preparation of Lok Sabha elections to be held next year.
“Amitji has asked us to prepare the party cadres across State to ensure we retain both the seats. He has also said that as BJP will be forming government at the Centre in 2019, Goa needs to give two MPs,” Sawaikar said.
Source informed that High Command is clear that Parrikar should not be stressed with party work. “The senior leaders are asked to take the lead and strengthen party organization ahead of polls,” sources said.
Sources also revealed that directions are given to strongly activate its social media cell to counter the opposition’s “false propaganda” against Narendra Modi-led government and so also state government.
During the recent party meeting in Panjim last week, party President Vinay Tendulkar had announced that the role of Parrikar in the Lok Sabha election will be restricted.
as the party has decided not to stress him.
