MAPUSA: BJP is the only party that goes to the grassroots level and serves the people, informed BJP National General Secretary Daggubati Purandeswari.
Purandeswari in presence of State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade, Damu Naik, Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza and North Goa District President Mahanand Asnodkar held a meeting at North Goa BJP office, on Monday.
“Different parties are coming together only to defeat BJP but people of Goa should think which party will work for them. BJP is the only party that goes to the grassroots level and serves the people,” said Purandeswari.
“Under the tenure of BJP many projects and development was witnessed and considering the interest and development of Goa, the people will be on the side of BJP,” Purndeswari said.
Commenting on Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s statement on Benaulim gang-rape incident, Purandeswari said, “It is not right to take another meaning of his statement. The BJP government is sensitive on the issue and action will be taken and justice will be delivered.”
“BJP government led by Sawant is doing good work in Goa. The Bhumiputra Bill which is passed is only for those who are residing in Goa for last 30 years. They can now have legalised houses,” she added.
When questioned about the increased prices of fuel, she said, “Congress is raising voice on the issue but when it was their government they had kept bonds and our BJP government is now repaying interest and principal.”
Commenting on recent protests, BJP State President Tanavade said, “Everyone has the right to protest but it is not proper by going to people’s houses and holding protests thereby disturbing peace.”
“New trend has started of going to houses which is not correct. Congress has got right responses from the BJP supporters. If BJP want to show its strength then we can show in all 40 constituencies,” he added.
