MARGAO: Muslims worldwide are bracing up for the Holy month of Ramazan. Here in Goa, the BJP is gearing up to make deep inroads in the Muslim community by distributing prayer time-table this Ramazan.
If BJP Muslim leader Sheikh Jina is to be believed, the BJP has printed around 25,000 prayer time-table cards for distribution to people visiting the Masjids for the prayers. And, Jina had no qualms in saying that distributing prayer time-table cards to the Muslims is BJP’s one way to reach out to the minorities across the State. “The Congress has turned jittery over the fact that Muslims are slowly and surely coming close to the BJP. The Congress did nothing for the Muslims in Goa in the last 25 years. They were only used and thrown out,” he charged.
He pointed out that Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar has addressed the long standing demand of the Muslim community by promising to give office for the Haj pilgrims. “Other demands of the Muslim community will be resolved within the next three years,” he added.
Referring to the statement by AICC Goa incharge, Digvijay Singh, Jina asserted the Muslims in Goa would stand by the BJP, adding that the Congress has suddenly become nervous with the community members coming close to the BJP.
He exuded confidence that BJP would win both the North and South Goa Parliamentary seats in the 2014 polls with the support of all sections of Goan people, including Muslims.
When his attention was drawn to the fact that the long-pending demand of Kabrastan remains unresolved till date, Jina said the Chief Minister would soon work out a solution to the demand.
