BJP ridicules Cong for importing candidate from Margao

Says Shantaram has no right to comment on Parrikar who has won Panjim 5 times; Say Congress is responsible for creation of Pakistan

PANJIM: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has ridiculed the fact that Congress had to import a candidate from Margao to contest against Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar in Panjim.
Claiming that quality of utterances and press statements of GPCC President Shantaram Naik do not deserve any reply, BJP General Secretary North, Hemant Golatkar, said, “He (Naik) has already exposed the bankruptcy of his Congress party by importing a candidate from Margao to contest in Panjim and therefore he has no right to comment on the status of Parrikar who has been successively elected by the Panjim electorate five times in a row.”
He also hit out at Naik over the latter’s statement that the BJP was ‘conniving with the British all the time and they have no right to teach us anything on freedom or running of country’.
“We pity the ignorance of Naik about the history of India and the independence struggle since he was still a child during the independence movement in India and liberation movement of Goa. In fact the Congress party is responsible for all the ills and problems faced by our country today like Kashmir, disputes with China, rampant poverty in the country and deep-rooted corruption and so on,” Golatkar said.
He alleged that Congress leaders in their hunger for global acclaim are responsible for the occupation of large parts of India in Kashmir by Pakistan and China. “The Congress is responsible for creation of Pakistan which has become a constant irritant to our country,” he said, adding, “In fact, the BJP government led by Prime Minister at the Centre and Manohar Parrikar led government in Goa are trying to solve the problems and clean the mess created by successive Congress governments and to lead India and Goa to a path of progress and prosperity.”
The BJP, Golatkar said referring to Naik, feels pity of the ignorance of this ‘Zero Hour Hero’ who has done nothing for the State during his three terms as Member of Parliament.
