CURCHOREM: The State BJP Brass decided to play safe and kick off its Vijay Sankalp Yatra from Curchorem. The idea was to have a show of strength and sound the poll bugle for State Assembly Elections slated for January-February 2016.
The writing was clear on the wall that the Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar will lead the campaign along with Ayush Minister Shripad Naik, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar and State BJP President Vinay Tendulkar and South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar.
Parrikar who’s already declared the star campaigner of BJP in Uttar Pradesh for his feat of surgical strikes came down heavily on the Aam Admi Party.
He stated that the air in Delhi is so polluted that even a glass of water turns yellow in minutes and hence the AAP Delhi leaders head to Goa to breathe some fresh air in the name of politics in Goa.
“ The idea was to say we attained Vijay or victory in our hard work of development and now is the time to Sankalp that which means to work on for the elections and that’s what we want to do,” exclaimed the Sanvordem MLA Ganesh Gaonkar.
Meanwhile Parsekar ascertained that the over five thousand gathered at the rally shows the good work done by the BJP MLA and the BJP government and the momentum from here on is to bring the party back to power.
Vinay Tendulkar called on the party members and supporters to begin their work of campaigning and mobilizing people together for the coming elections while the BJP highlighted its works of building bridges, developing roads, organizing the Defense Expo and hosting the BRICS summit.
The meeting was attended by Cuncolim MLA Ranjan Naik and Sanguem MLA Subhash Phaldessai while Deputy Chief Minister Francis Dsouza seemed to have been completely sidelined.
A lot of BJP leaders were also absent for the meeting with the second round of Vijay sankalp meetings slated for November 19 at Fatorda and Cuncolim and the leaders wanting to ensure that they have the crowds for the respective meetings. The Yatra was presided by Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral who highlighted the garbage plant setup and development works.
