BJP supported candidates win in two ZP Constituencies; Independent candidate wins in Cortalim

Two BJP-supported candidates Paresh Naik and Sandeep Bandodkar won the Davorlim and Reis Magos ZP Constituency by-elections, while the third ZP seat of Cortalim went to an Independent Merciana Vaz. The Congress did badly by coming third in two constituencies and last in Reis Magos. The results of the ZP by-elections were declared on Tuesday, while the byte elections were held on Monday.  

In Reis Magos BJP supported candidate Sandeep Bandodkar won 5345 votes(65.87%) of the votes. Two independents came in second and third place, while the Congress candidate Pragati Pednekar came last with only 509 votes.

Davorlim had the most amount of seven candidates, BJP-supported PareshNaik won 4080 votes(40.42%), AAP-supported Siddesh Bhagat came second with 3374, while Congress candidate Leoncio Jervasio Fernandes came third with 1089 votes.

In Cortalim Independent Merciana Mendes Vaz wife of Cortalim MLA Anton Vaz won with 4453 votes(58%), Independent Lesley Gama came second with 1511 votes while Congress candidate Valent Barbosa came third with 1360 votes (17%)
