BJP taking undue advantage of CM’s illness: Congress

PANJIM: Congress on Saturday alleged that BJP was taking undue advantage of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s sickness to ensure the government’s stability.
Addressing media persons, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) spokesperson Amarnath Panjikar said that BJP, its MLAs and Ministers in the cabinet are misusing Parrikar’s sickness for their personal gain. “Everyone is aware that the Chief Minister is on the sick bed, fighting a serious illness. But BJP is taking undue advantage of this just to be in power,” he alleged.
Panjikar said that the BJP-led government is acting in the most inhuman and irresponsible manner in this and demanded that Parrikar’s family question BJP and urge them not to misuse the situation for political gains.
Panjikar was referring to the recent Investment Promotion Board (IPB) meeting, which according to the government was chaired by Parrikar through video conferencing. “A person who was airlifted and brought on stretcher from AIIMS to his residence, can that person hold a video conference meeting from 3.30pm to 8.30pm?” he questioned.
Panjikar demanded that if Parrikar attended the meeting via a video conference, then the video clippings be made public.
