PONDA: The State BJP leadership has appealed to its party workers in Shiroda to forget about the past and work for the interest of party.
The BJP leadership has also asked the workers to bridge their differences with the newly inducted former Congress MLA Subash Shirodkar.
The BJP workers in Shiroda are irked that they had not been taken into confidence before inducting Shirodkar into the party fold. However, the State leadership clarified that inducting Shirodkar and Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte was the decision of the party high command.
Sources say that BJP had scheduled a meeting between its workers and Shirodkar on Wednesday; the same was, however, not held as the workers did not want to have any discussion with Shirodkar in the absence of their leader Mahadev Naik.
BJP sources say that Mahadev Naik, a BJP core committee member who is currently in the US, is also upset with development as he was not taken into confidence. Naik has asked his supporters not to take any decision, before he returns.
“Mahadev Naik will return in the first week of November; will hold a meeting with his workers on November 4 and then brief the media on November 5, on the decision taken at the meeting,” said a source.
