MARGAO: Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai has taken a dig at the BJP for doing divisive politics and said that it is a conclusion that the BJP will come down to single digit in the next election.
“This is a sign of desperation by the BJP government that the people are against divisive politics of the BJP,” Vijai said on Friday.
“We were in an alliance government with BJP and they have betrayed us. Entire Goa knows that BJP are betrayers and they are not my parents to tell where I should be and what I should talk about,” Vijai said.
“Ask anyone in Goa, they will tell you that BJP will be reduced to single digit in the next election,” Vijai said.
Asked when Goa Forward will leave NDA Vijai said, “We did not merge into NDA or BJP. And when we leave we will leave with our heads high.”
Objection to opening of divider at Arlem: The opening of a divider at Arlem in Fatorda Eastern Bypass road which is being tendered by the PWD has been vehemently objected. The government has been requested to cancel the tender for opening of median/divider for the sake of people’s safety.
The work under the head of reopening of dividers/median, rumblers’ strips, signboards reading gap in median high mounted blinders. No parking in front of the Ashoka Pump, Agali, Fatorda has been objected fearing that there will be several more accidents and resultant deaths if the road median/divider is opened.
NGO Jai Damodar Association has written to the Chief Minister as well as the PWD Minister, TCP Minister and the PWD objecting to the opening of the median on the Eastern bypass.
Mahesh Nayak said, “Eastern Bypass road from Arlem Junction to Boshe Circle is one of the best roads and hence the traffic flows with high speed leading to the South of Goa. The road opening near old RTO/APMC has already proved fatal with atleast two major accidents. One month back two motorcycles collided and one died and two were seriously injured. In another accident, a woman was crushed by a truck.
“There is already a road opening little ahead of the one which is to be planned opened now. The increase in traffic and over speeding is going to prove fatal for people if another opening is made on the road which is already narrow,” said Mahesh.
