PANJIM: BJP Yuva Morcha whilst refuting the accusations of the Progressive Front of Goa (PGF) on potholes and Open Defecation Free issues sought for a clarification during a press briefing on Tuesday.
While interacting with the media, BJP Yuva Morcha president Pramay Mainkar, said that Progressive Front of Goa ‘is misguiding people by telling lies on Open Defecation Free and ongoing works of Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC). BJP state president Prashant Desai and Gajanan Tilve were present.
It may be recalled that the Front, addressing a press conference two days back, had questioned why the chief minister had declared Goa as ODF without looking at the reality of the toilet facilities in the State and also why the CM is holding the chairmanship of GSIDC which is not filling the potholes and has left many works incomplete in Panjim.
Mainkar said, “In the notification issued it was mentioned that each bus stand must have a toilet in 500m or 1 km radius. Fortunately, there is a toilet on the KTC Bus stand but people prefer urinating outside instead of using the toilet. The public must take action.”
Clarifying on the GSIDC Chairmanship, Mainkar said this was handed over to the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant when late Manohar Parrikar resigned and went to Delhi. GSIDC is filling the pot holes in the city.
“If GSIDC is not completing any work, the Front should come out with proof and avoid telling lies to the public,” he added.
