MARGAO: Shantaram Naik in a press conference on Saturday lashed out at the policies and governance of the BJP government at the Centre. Shantaram Naik has accused the BJP government of starting various initiatives without proper policy making or law framework. While expressing displeasure over the not reporting of his zero hour mention by Goan media Shantaram Naik has expressed immediate need for a Satellite Channel in Goa which can reach further in the country.
While criticising the ‘Make in India’ campaign, Naik said, “The ‘Make in India’ campaign of the Modi government will be a flop as there is no legal framework, no policy or no legislation to back this investment plan. If Make in India was effective then there was no need for the Defence Ministry to buy helicopters from another country” added Naik.
“The NDA government in the centre deserves zero marks as they have only made slight amendments in the bills of the UPA government and re presented them,” he claimed.
While taking a dig at the Margao Municipal Council Shantaram said, “Ask the MMC councillors, how many times I, Rajya Sabha MP has called them to utilise my MPLAD funds, and how many times they have called me asking for funds. Every 6 months the Chairperson changes, no one is bothered of even the sanctioned works,” said Shantaram Naik in disgust.
