VASCO: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Vasco on Friday urged Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida to install an air purifying tower, in the interest of general public, which shall be availed through corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds.
Speaking to Herald, BJYM member Kiran Naik stated that the air purifier will help to purify air in a radius of one kilometre in the port town, which will provide clean air to the people. And this shall promote good health in the nearby residences.
The delegation consisted of Amey Chopdekar, Nilesh Patil, Darshil Walawalkar, Gangadhar Rao and Sagar Patil. Vasco MLA Almeida assured them to install the air purifier at the earliest for the betterment of public.
Apparently, any resident of Vasco can feel the ill effects of pollution due to coal. There have been agitations and strong opposing from the people across Goa to coal hub, but surprisingly BJYM Vasco has taken a step ahead considering the safety and good health of the people and has demanded the installation of air purifying tower in the port town.
