On April 19, 2022, a dead body of an unknown female, aged between 30 to 40 yrs was found lying behind a Forest office, near Govt. Primary School, Gullem Canacona in a suspicious manner. During the course of the investigation, the deceased was identified to be one Savita w/o Ajay Malli r/o Opp. Railway Stn. Road Margao Goa n/o Pansalawa, Beldaur P. S, Khagaria District, Bihar. The Post Mortem of the body revealed that the deceased was killed by strangulating with the help of a dupatta as a ligature. Accordingly, a murder case was registered at Canacona Police Station u/s 302 IPC, and the investigation was taken up.
Multiple teams were formed across South Goa District. Local Intelligence revealed that the deceased along with the accused was staying in Margao and was working as a laborer. Further investigation it revealed that the deceased was murdered by her husband namely Ajay @ Gulzaria Malli on the suspicion that she was having an extramarital affair. Consequently, a combing operation was carried out across Goa, especially at places where the Migrant and labor class populations are living especially at Bus Stand, Railway Station, construction sites, slum areas, etc. The Border Post pickets were alerted and the details of the accused were shared. With the help of Technical surveillance and local intelligence, it was revealed that the accused had probably left Goa for his native place i.e. Khagaria District, Bihar. Accordingly, teams of Canacona PS immediately left for Khagaria District, Bihar.
