BICHOLIM: Terming the allegations made by the former councillor Kamlakar Teli as baseless, the Bicholim Municipal Council and the local MLA on Monday claimed that uniform development was going on in all wards.
MLA Rajesh Patnekar informed that there is development going on even in Teli’s ward and the allegations made by him are baseless.
“No doubt Teli was with us but his behaviour was improper. He had issues not just with the BMC chairman but even several former chiefs. Recalling an incident, the MLA claimed that Teli went to the extent of flinging a chair at one of the councillors.” “Teli is a good worker but he has failed because of his rude behaviour,” the MLA added.
Patnekar said, “Since the last two years he did not attend any party function and even if someone tried to carry out development in his ward, Teli always tried to come in their way. His allegations are baseless. Party will not be affected in any way with his resignation.”
Refuting Teli’s allegations, BMC Chairman, Satish Gaonkar said, “We are trying to carry out development in all the wards including the wards of the opposition councillors.”
“Teli did not try to take administrative approval of the works in his ward and I personally went and got the approval. Soon the work will begin in the ward. We want development of Bicholim and even for pre-monsoon work, we have given 90 labourers in his ward while in all other wards we have provided only 60 labourers,” he claimed
It may be recalled that former councillor Kamlakar Teli had resigned from the primary membership of BJP accusing the BMC and the MLA for sidelining his ward.
