Board to internally assess private, ITI candidates appearing for exams

Notifies one secondary and HSS in each taluka for candidates appearing for Class X or XII public exam for seeking equivalency

PANJIM: In lines with other students appearing for Board examination, the private and ITI candidates, appearing for Class X or XII public exam, for seeking equivalency, would be assessed round the year.
The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) has revised the scheme for these candidates applying for equivalency of SSC and HSSC for the current academic year.
As per the revised scheme, the private and ITI candidates will have to answer internal assessment throughout the year. For this purpose, the Goa Board has notified one secondary and one higher secondary school in each taluka. The internal assessment component will carry 10-20 marks.
The terminal exams will be held for 70 or 80 marks and the practical component will carry 20 marks.
The first internal assessment will be carried out in August while the second will be held in the second week of October.
The third assessment will be an innovative test where students will be evaluated based on a project, presentation, reading, group assignments, etc. The assessment will carry 10 marks and has to be completed by mid-February, next year.
Also, the first terminal exam will be held in November-December, covering 50 per cent of the portion, while the remaining 50 per cent portion will be covered in the second terminal exam to be held in March-April, 2022.
The Board has also revised the age criteria, as per which for appearing for Class X the candidates should be 16 years as against earlier age limit of 17 years. Similarly, for Class XII, the age limit is now restricted to 18 years from 19 years.
