Boat capsises in Betul, no casualty

CUNCOLIM: A small boat, which had gone for fishing in the Betul Sea, capsised at the mouth of the Sal River.

It happened the fishermen were approaching the jetty carrying fish from the boat owned by Chandrahas Pednekar. The two fishermen on the boat swam to the shore safely.

According to local boat owners, the accident was caused due to the sand dunes at the mouth of the Sal River. The local boat owner said that the sand mold increases the risk of such accidents. He said the proposed project of back waters is in limbo from last four years.

Some NGO, it is learnt, had gone to court against the proposed project.
