Vasco police said they received a call stating that a man was found hanging to the truck (GA-02-V-7149) near the MPT ground and later sent the body to GMC hospital in Bambolim to ascertain the cause of the death.
Onlookers near the MPT ground suspect that it to be a case of murder, as the feet of the deceased had touched the ground and the knot of the noose was almost four inches above the neck.
Speaking to Herald, some onlookers said some trucks are just abandoned near the MPT ground which makes the way very risky which is used by women and young girls in the evenings. The absence of streetlights has added to the fears among residents in the area.
“This incident should awaken the authorities concerned and remove all the trucks parked near the MPT ground for the safety of the general public,” said an onlooker.
Vasco PSI Gautam Salunke said the police will register the case as unnatural death and after getting the autopsy report, the exact cause of death will be known and accordingly police will investigate the case.
