PANJIM: The body of 27-year-old Farooq Usman from Ucassaim, who jumped from the new Mandovi bridge on Tuesday night, is yet to be retrieved.
His brother, who was present at the bridge during the incident, alerted the Panjim police. Following the incident, Fire and Emergency Services (FES) personnel rushed to the spot and a search operation was launched.
“We were passing through the other side and noticed something had happened. By the time we reached there, the body was already swept away by the water. He was seen with a group, but we’re unsure of the details surrounding the incident,” a bystander said.
