PANJIM: Old Goa Police on Monday recovered the body of Smita Anand Bhobe (61) floating in River Mandovi. “A post mortem was conducted and it has been confirmed that death occurred due to drowning. It can be suicide case or an accident. The investigation is going on,” Old Goa Police said.
Police said the deceased was a resident of Ribandar and had been taking medical treatment for diabetes and pressure problems. Police added that they received information about the body floating at 7.50 am and directly swung into action.
