Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan, renowned Pakistani artists, have received the green light to appear in Indian films as the Bombay High Court rejected a plea to ban collaborations with Pakistani talents. The court emphasized the importance of patriotism fostering unity and cultural exchanges, highlighting the significance of these connections.
The petition, filed by a cine worker, aimed to impose a complete ban on Indian citizens, companies, and associations collaborating with Pakistani artists in various creative fields. However, the court, led by Justice Sunil B Shukre and Justice Firdosh P Pooniwalla, dismissed the plea, stating that it went against the promotion of cultural harmony, unity, and peace, deeming it meritless.
The court’s decision underlines the positive steps taken by the Indian government in promoting international peace and security, including allowing the participation of the Pakistani cricket team in the World Cricket Cup held in India. It affirms that activities like arts, music, sports, culture, and dance transcend national boundaries, contributing to unity and harmony among nations.
