PONDA: Residents from Bondbag, Bethora are forced to stay awake till 2 am to store drinking water as for the past one-and-a-half months, they have been receiving tap water only for half-an-hour and that too after midnight.
Locals have now threatened to gherao PWD engineers if the issue is not resolved within the next two days.
The issue has become extremely severe for around 12 houses in Bondbag. Due to poor water supply, some of the locals have to bathe on after every two to three days, which could lead to health hazards.
Since residents have to stay up till midnight to fill up their tanks, it disrupts sleep and affects the daily schedule of the locals, many of whom are office goers.
“In the beginning, a new pipeline was installed for the water supply and initially everything went alright. However, for the past one-and-a-half months, things have gone from bad to worse. Many of us even have to go to our relatives to take water. If the supply is not restored within the next two days then we will gherao the PWD engineers,” said local Mangaldas Gaude.
