Borda teen meets watery grave

A picnic ended in tragedy when a 16-year-old boy from Borda-Margao drowned in Dudhsagar River near Signal Kond on Sunday at about 10 am.
According to Collem police and an official of EMRI 108 Ajit Mapankar, the deceased Shilton Pereira along with other 15 boys, in the age group of 16-19 years from Margao, had gone for a picnic at Dudhsagar. The incident occurred when Pereira had gone for a bath in the river, where strong currents dragged him. After police removed Pereira from the waters, he was rushed to Kakoda Hospital, where doctors declared Pereira dead.
